Casa Maya Guest Terms & Conditions of Stay
CHECKING INTO CASA MAYA
Check-in time: 3:00 PM – 6:00PM. To arrange for early or late check-in, please contact us in advance.
Registration: All guests are required to register with management when they arrive, including all members of a group party booking. Registration requires a government photo ID (Passport for foreigners), full name, address, email address, and cell and/or messaging ID for guest-front desk communications during stay (Whatsapp preferred).
Late Arrival: To arrange for a later arriving guest in the same party, please ask the management for details.
Unregistered Guests: No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed inside the property, unless it is a 10-minute pick-up or drop-off. For everyone’s security, room keys are not to be given to unregistered guests. If you wish to have a visitor for longer or to use the facilities, you may avail our visitor service.
Visitor Service: Registration in advance or on arrival. Service fee automatically applied: $2 ($4 if unregistered) per visitor per hour (for day use only, minimum 1 hour), or $20 ($40 if unregistered) per visitor per day (including overnight), whichever is less, or free if the total number of registered guests per room does not exceed the number included in the booked rate (usually 2 people for en-suite rooms). Overnight visitors are only allowed if they sleep in the inviting guest’s room, and are only allowed if it does not exceed the maximum persons per room capacity set by management.
Deposit: A mandatory refundable security deposit of between $60 and $200, depending on room type and duration is due in advance or at check-in, payable in cash or credit card authorization, and released within 3-days of check-out, less charges such as damages & service fees for visitor, early check-in, late checkout, and so on, that are automatically applied.
CHECKING OUT OF YOUR ROOM
Checkout time: 7:00 AM - 10:30 AM. To arrange for early or late checkout, please contact us in advance.
Room & Key: At checkout time, it is necessary to remove your guests and luggage from your room, and return the key. Missing or lost keys incur a fee of $10 per key.
Late room checkout: Late checkout from your room incurs the following automatic charges:
11am – 12pm: 30% daily rate
12pm – 1pm: 60% daily rate
1pm – 2pm: 100% daily rate, after which guest may stay in room until checkout time following day, IF room is available that night.
Extensions: To request an extension of stay, for a later checkout date, please contact the management as soon as possible before checkout time to determine availability. All extensions must be paid in advance.
LEAVING CASA MAYA
Day Use Service: If you wish to stay at Casa Maya property after room checkout at 10:30am (until latest 3pm), you may day use service. Service fee automatically applied: $2 per person per hour. Service includes use of kitchen, skydeck, Wi-Fi, bathroom, outdoor showers, and luggage storage in kitchen (at guest’s own risk). It shall be assumed that any guests remaining on Casa Maya property after 11am have opted to avail this service & fee will be automatically applied.
Exit: When you are ready to exit Casa Maya, cash security deposits shall be returned less any automatic charges incurred.
PROPERTY
Smoking. Smoking is prohibited at Casa Maya in all rooms and indoor spaces. We want to provide our guests the experience of totally fresh air outside and inside their room and so for outdoor smoking please be ensure you are not affecting others. If washing is hanging, no smoking on the roof. Depositing cigarette butts in the room trash is also prohibited. They generate stubborn odor that penetrates wood, plastic, and paint, getting into walls, ceiling, floors and furniture, requiring extensive remediation and lost room nights. To cover these losses, any smoking will result in a fine of $40 per occurrence plus a remediation charge up to $1000 depending on how much property has to be deodorized. After smoking, cigarette butts must be left outside Casa Maya grounds, for example in public trash at the beach.
Vaping: Vaping is prohibited inside the rooms and kitchen area. On balconies and sky deck, please be respectful to other guests and ask if it bothers them, and stop if it does.
Food: To avoid insects and food odor, eating and drinking anything except water is prohibited inside the room.
Towels: Room towels are for room use only, not beach use. They are for drying guests only - not boards, floors, shoes, motorbikes, etc. Wet towels must be dried on chairs and laundry lines, not on rails, to avoid rust stains. Stains will be charged a minimum cleaning/replacement fee of $20. To keep base rates accessible to travelers who bring their own beach towels, they are not included, but a limited number are available for rent.
Damage Charges: Any damages or missing items will be charged to the guest who caused it, or to the booking member of the party.
Liability: Casa Maya accepts no liability for the loss or damage to the property of any guest.
Noise: Noise is strictly prohibited between 10pm to 9am. Please respect other guests’ dreams.
Conservation: Please switch off the lights and fan/s after use. It saves energy!
Toilets: Please do not flush or throw trash and tissues down the toilet to avoid blockage. Thank you!
Room Clean: Once a week, there is a mandatory room clean and change of bedding. Towels may be changed every 3 days.
SHARED KITCHEN RULES:
Hours: Kitchen is open from 6:30AM in the morning until 9:00PM in the evening.
Space for others: Kitchen area is only for cooking & food preparation. When finished, please clean up, and move to the eating area or sidewalk, so next guests can cook too. Kitchen cooking area is not for stand-by or to party. Please give space to other guest to prepare their food too.
Damages: Please care for kitchen items as you would your own. If you break anything, please report it, so we can replace it for use by other guests.
Cleaning after others: Everyone has to use the Kitchen so keep it nice and clean up well after yourself. Failure to do so will be charge of cleaning fee taken out from your security deposit and will be given to the person who cleans up your mess, whether guest or staff. To ask for the cleaning fee from other guests irresponsibility, please provide a photo before using the kitchen and a photo after cleaning the kitchen with the correct date and time, and send to the Casa Maya front desk Whatsapp number provided at check-in.
Peak season: When we have a lot of guests, to distribute kitchen traffic, we have a kitchen slot sign up sheet, self-managed by guests. Please sign yourself into any open slots in advance.
Calls: Space permitting, we want all guests to feel free to enter the kitchen and prepare food, relax, or focus at any time. We don’t want our guest to feel like they are interrupting an important online meeting, or be unable to think because of a loud call in progress. Therefore, for all music, video, and brief calls, please use headphones, and if a call or online meeting exceeds 5 minutes, please take it to your room or balcony.
